Redlands United would like to announce an update on the players in their PlayStation 4 National Premier League Queensland squad.
Sam Langley and Liam O’Bryan have both suffered season-ending knee injuries during separate incidents at training sessions over the past week.
Redlands United want to wish them well in their recovery and hope to see them back on the pitch for next years competition.
Despite these injuries to key players in the senior squad, the team has seen the debuts for a number of Under 20’s players throughout the season.
Luke Hendrix made his debut for the club not long ago, then on Saturday night against Northern Fury FC he scored a goal moments after coming on from the bench with his first touch of the ball.
Young goalkeeper James Edgar has stepped into the senior role along with midfielder Carlton Westerdale.
Stuart Edgar and Dylan Hostland have also made their debuts for the squad. Edgar has made seven appearances and Hostland four appearances since their debuts earlier in the season.
Toby Hughes has been an important member of the squad in 2017 after coming in early to cover departures and injuries to the defence.
The young players who had this opportunity have all stepped up to the duties of a senior team.
Redlands United will face table toppers Gold Coast City FC on Saturday 8 July from 7:15pm at Duncan Mckenna Fields.
