Cairns take points against Redlands

Cairns FC have their maiden home NPL win after defeating Redlands United 3-2 on Saturday night to take all three points. Redlands trialled the game early before leaving it late to score two goals in the space of three minutes. Redlands United coach Nick Dibbs said the early goal hurt the team. "The first half got changed because of the goal in the first three minutes and they never got their heads right," he said. "They got themselves in a bit of a state to be quite honest," Dibbs said. 2018 Women's Legend Cup

This Saturday, 24 February, Redlands United will be venue hosting the Annual Women's Legends Cup with the 2017 winners Leftovers. This event started in 2016 to raise funds for a chosen charity and to also provide a pre season tournament for the Brisbane Women's Legends Competition (Over 30's). Slacks Creek and Redlands United were declared joint winners in 2016. Slacks Creek hosted last year's event with Leftovers proving victorious. (Leftovers is a team formed from a number of players from various clubs). Redlands get first win of the season

A Shuto Kuboyama double against Gold Coast United has sealed Redlands United first win on their 2018 National Premier Leagues season. Redlands coach Nick Dibbs said it is always good to get the first win of the season. "It was coming," he said. "I knew it was coming and I'm pleased with the result today. "If I'm going to be really critical it could have been more but the big thing for us was the clean sheet and it was good to have a bigger choice of players and to have the right players in the right positions. Redlands come from behind

A Shuto Kuboyama hat trick has led Redlands United to their first point of the season with the 4-4 draw against SWQ Thunder on Saturday night. Redlands coach Nick Dibbs said while the game was entertaining, his side need to be consistent. “I know how dangerous they can be,” “As I said last week I’m not concerned, the boys aren’t concerned, we leaked a couple of goals again and it was a similar story to last week. “At the moment we just haven’t had the role of the ball,” Redlands was able to get their second game of the season off to a better start as they pressured Thunder from the first whistle. Futsal Queensland State Titles: Trials

FQ STATE TITLES Futsal is an excellent way to hone your skills and footwork.... not to mention increase your fitness. This is an elite level competition and is aimed at high level futsal/football players wanting to represent Queensland at the National Futsal Championships in 2019. This is a tournament for the first round of the selection process. 20 players from each age group make the first cut. Information night - Thursday 15th February 2018. Club team nominations by 23rd February 2018. Team nomination sheets by 9th March 2018. Tournament as per attached flyer.
