RUFC Media Manager

Redlands United FC are seeking expressions of interest for the position of Media Manager for the 2019 NPL season. This position may be suited to students undertaking media or related studies or someone with the right skill set and experience.

Football Queensland requires that all NPL Clubs employ a Media Manager for the management of media activities associated with NPL fixtures.

This position requires good writing skills, creativity and a working knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Familiarity with technology and a general understanding of football is required.

The RUFC Media Manager is responsible for:

  • Producing weekly RUFC NPL Match Reports for the local newspaper, club website and Facebook to promote the Club

  • Delivering the following items to Football Qld Media within 90 minutes after full time for all Home Games:

  • Photographs of completed Match Records (Team sheets)

  • Summary of Key moments of the match

  • Coaches Team of the Week Nominations

  • Providing live updates of scores via social media for Men’s first team matches

  • Managing the Club’s online communications presence via website and social media to engage our audience

  • Assisting the club media staff with the production of quality media products for publication on the RUFC website and social media

  • Promoting the Club and upcoming matches

  • Managing the Club’s NPL Match Day Media Operations

  • Overseeing and delivering any post-match media conference required

  • First point of communication between Football Qld Media and RUFC.

To be successful in this role you will have the following attributes:

  • Completion of formal Media/Marketing Certificate or completing a degree in these disciplines

  • Excellent written content experience, with examples able to be submitted

  • Experience with gaining member engagement through social media applications

  • In depth understanding of Football or Sports journalism

  • A passion for reporting

  • Excellent ability to deliver on time and high sense of urgency

This position is part time requiring approx. 3 hours per week and the successful applicant must be available on all fixture games which are generally run over weekends. The role reports to the Club’s Management Committee.
