Spanish side CD Almuñecar City has signed Redlands United young gun Byron McLeod who jets off for Spain to take up a full time football position.
CD Almuñecar City has signed the 18 year old striker on a permanent transfer.
Byron broke into the Redlands United 1st team last season at the age of 17 playing six (6) games for the Red Devils.
His season performance was enough for the Club to sign the young striker for season 2019, where, despite missing a majority of the season with a foot injury, played eight (8) games in the National Premier Leagues.
CD Almuñecar City Manager George Jermy commented, "Byron made a huge impression when he came in for a training period before Christmas last season, where he was quickly approached to be involved with CD Almuñecar City."
Redlands United President Andy Bradley congratulated Byron on this huge achievement and wished him all the best in his football future from everyone at Redlands United.
Mr Bradley added “We as a Club are proud to have played a small part in Byron’s achievement. It validates what we are doing here in our development processes, in giving young kids a real chance. We will be keenly watching his progress with interest and have no doubt he will be a success.”
