Redlands United FC is proud to announce the signing of Englishman Rory Smith for the 2020 NPL season.
Smith has made the long journey to Redlands Coast from Canterbury, Kent in the UK to debut for the Red Devils.
Smith an attacking central midfielder comes to the club with a good pedigree from Ramsgate FC in the UK, who play in the Isthmian League.
Smith debuted for Ramsgate in 2017 as a 18-19 year old and made his mark with club and fans alike.
On the change from the UK to sunny Queensland, Smith had this to say, “Its been very enjoyable, really love it here on the Redlands Coast and Brisbane. The weather has taken some getting use to at present, playing and training in 30 degree heat and high humidity, but I love playing over here, it’s been great.
The boys have all been very welcoming, they’re a great bunch of blokes. We’re starting to put thngs together on the pitch, just can’t wait for the season to start now.”
NPL Head Coach Graham Ross is pleased to have signed Rory for season 2020 and expects him to be one of the competition’s best in 2020.
Welcome to Compass Grounds and Redlands United Rory.
