Redlands Re-Sign Inspirational Leader for 2022

This weekend’s final National Premier League game for 2021 is a vital match for Redlands United. On the cusp of this game, Redlands United are proud and excited to announce the re-signing of the club's inspirational leader Sam Langley for season 2022.

Langley will also be playing his 100th Senior 1st team game for Redlands United in this Sunday’s game. In this era of player movement between clubs it is inspiring to see players play a century of senior games for one club.

Langley a Redlands United Junior, played his first 1st team match in 2014 as a 16 year old. He was a member of the Club’s National Premier League Championship winning side of 2016 and of course the historic FFA Cup victory over the reigning A-League Champions, Adelaide United.

On re-signing for Redlands United for next season, Langley commented, “Really happy about signing for 2022, we have some great coaches and hopefully will be able to build on from this season. I’m also looking forward to seeing the club move forward, there’s so many good people around the club that will take it in the right direction.“

Redlands United Technical Director and 1st Team Head Coach Graham Harvey commented, "I am delighted that our club captain Sam has re-signed for 2022. Sam is a much sought after player in Brisbane football but he recognises what we are trying to build here in the coming season. As a Redlands junior Sam has been and is an integral part of our clubs DNA. Sam is a quality midfield player and a leader of our Club".

What a conclusion to season 2021. Six weeks ago Redlands United were staring at relegation, but 6 weeks is a long time in Football and 3 wins and 3 draws some against the competition heavyweights, it all now comes down to the final game of the season against local rivals Capalaba FC. The Red Devils have to win this game to stay in the National Premier League top level in 2022.

This game is not to be missed with everything on the table for both sides. Redlands United are calling for their supporters to turn out in force on Sunday 5pm at Capalaba’s Max Haynes Field for this must win clash and cheer loud and proud for the Red Devils.
