International Flavour to Junior Coaching Clinic

There is an international flavour to Redlands United’s June Holiday Coaching Clinic running 30 June to 2 July.  The Coaching Clinic is being co-ordinated by the Red Devils Reserve Grade Coach Niall McCarthy, who will be assisted by the Redlands City Devils Queensland State League (QSL) players, including Japanese International, Yoshi Okada, Irish International Barry Moran, Papuan New Guinea players, Tau Winnie, Ila Ilaita and Leana Geno, Pat Polistino, Danny Gardner as well as members of the Club’s Youth Side.   The Coaching Clinic will be held at the Club’s grounds in Waterloo St Cleveland from 8am to 12pm Monday 30 June and 9am to 12pm on Tuesday and Wednesday 1st and 2nd of July, and is open to interested junior players from any club.  Participants will also receive a training strip, ball and lunch each day.  On the Clinic Redlands President Peter Clark said, “It is great to see the QSL players getting involved with the junior players of the area.   Anyone interested in attending should get their registration in quickly, as places are filling up.”  Further details on the June Holiday Coaching Clinic are available from the Club’s website, www.redlandsunited.com.au or by contacting the club on 3821 2831 or email secretary@redlandsunited.com.au.

Thanks to the Roar for a great show

The Lucas Real Estate Tiny Tots from Redlands United assisted the QLD Roar and the Redlands City Devils on to the field. Well done kids.
Remember some of these kids are only 4 years old. It was a great thrill for them to meet their idols.

What are the clubs current projects?

There have been quite a few changes to the club in the last couple of years.

First was the toilet block going on field 6 to allow for more field space, then the trees went on the same area to allow for field 6 to be developed. We then had field 1 overhauled, Lights have all been serviced, the bushes at the rear of the club have been removed for the safety of children, The gardens at the car park side of the club have been replanted. Field 2 3 have been reworked and leveled and should be ready by next season.

Ideas that have been discussed When
1/. To get all the club fields the same as Field one  Fields 2 and 3 have been replanted and are growing nicely with the rain and sun and work being put in. Field 6 has been enlarged and has had the  grass on the extension.
2/. To replace the Dugouts on Field 2  Finished
3/. New lights for fields 1,2 ,3 and 6  Grants currently applied for. First round unsuccessful. but blight re globed and repaired
4/. Deck at the front of the club house  Low priority, on the wish list. Possibly by March
5/. Grand Stand between fields 1 and 2 and also between fields 1 and 6 5 new grandstands currently being finished
6/. Enlarge/ Rework the bar area Completed. Thanks to Alan Medland from AE shop fitters for the assistance.
7/. More football development  Ongoing. New Team put together to work on this aspect.
8/. Redevelop the canteen Finished. come and check it out. Thanks to AE Shop fitters and Alan Medland for the work put in.
9/. Nets on car parks to field 2 to prevent car damage, Rework replace nets on field 1 TBA
10/. Barbeque for under cover area for all to use Built and finished!!! Thanks to Dickie from the over 35's, Alan Medland From AE Shopfitters and Peter Clark
